Managed to get out to Eagleby wetlands yesterday and came across this beautiful little Shining Bronze-Cuckoo. Not only a first for me but brings up my ton, 100 different bird species photographed since starting about six months back.

Beautiful images Murray, what a lovely looking little bird, would be new for me. Congrats also on the 100 milestone.

Fantastic photos mate, I just added that one to my list a a couple of months ago as well .
Make for such a striking photo composition
Dont take life too seriously, it never ends well
Very nice bird to get to a 100 with - great work.
Well done getting those shots in a casuarina too - those trees attract a lot of birds but I have a devil of a time getting a good photo of a bird in them. Often the camera will focus on the thin spindly foliage and not the bird, or if i do get the bird in focus one of the needle like leaves will be right across the eye!
Thanks all. It was like a Christmas present I must admit. I must have taken 20 shots and suffered the issues that WD mentions of focus on thin branches in that tree. Luckily I was able to get four shots that are usable. Cheers again.
