I love figs too. Those silver eyes are great, I love the shadows and the sun reflections on the leaves.I find the range of colours these little birds come in amazing. I haven't seen any in my garden yet, had some last year. Some of the are very pale in colour, and others like yours can look almost blue-grey and purple. Lovely photos.
The silver eyes at our place certainly give a fig about our figs. Their constant calling is not a figment of my imagination, either! Like you, kathiemt, I've never seen so many enjoying the fruit as there are this year. The silver eyes seem to be successfully competing with the the New Holland honeyeaters who are usually the early birds who get the figs.
For us it's mainly the Silver eyes but the Currawongs, Blackbirds and Indian Mynahs are often in the tree too. And at night time it's fruit bats with huge wings.
Thanks Margaret. I use a Nikon D90 with a 70-300mm lens for bird shots. I took some more today, just processing them now. They're an easy target for shots at the moment - right near my front door and they've gotten used to me walking around below them so don't take off too quickly now. They even stop and watch me watching them.

Thank you. They are very well camoflouged in the tree - their constant cheep, cheep, cheep gives them away.
