Silvereyes

I don't know for how many years we offered this huge Pine to the local Council as a Christmas Tree? In the end they didn't want it, because it was too big to transporte. Now we notice how good this tree actually is. More and more native birds use it for one reason or another. Lately Silvereyes feast on seeds way way up in it.( At least 30 m up) Even with my 400mm lens , I just guessed where they were, here are two pics, don't want to bother you with more than that.wink

Thanks Akos, I 've been standing under that tree for a long time, they don't come down, they stay right up the top.

Haven't seen a silvereye for years. Used to be quite common when I lived down on the plains. They used to cling to the wire of the finch aviaries as if there was something inside they wanted .

Great pics M-L.

I wish these birds would come back to our area.  I love them and the sounds they make.  They used to nest in my lillypilly tree.  The tree is still there, but the birds have long gone.
