For about 6 weeks now I have been chasing a photo of the Lathams Snipe which has taken up residence in the dam next door to where I work. Just about every morning tea, lunch and knockoff time I would go in search but to no avail. Quite a few times I spooked him but was never able to get a shot. Finally yesterday the stars were aligned and I managed to get some ok shots without spooking him. I have also included some other photos of some birds I got over the last few weekends. Hope you enjoy!

Bell Miner
Square-Tailed Kite
Chestnut-Beasted Manikins (Juvi)
Grey Fantail
Congratulations, that seems like a closer view than I have ever managed!
As for the rest, I have only seen the Grey Fantail- Bell Miners are so pretty...

Slippery snipe and sneaky snipe too.
Well done getting the lathams snipe - persistence pays off. They have the great camouflage for that habitat.
Thats a classic of the Chestnut-Breasted Mannikins - the pics of multiple birds of same species have an extra dimension. In this I like the way they all seem to be looking for something.
Thanks for posting.
I love them all, congrats on finnaly getting the Snipe, they are very sharp too.
Agreed with Ryu, Bellbirds are very pretty

Congratulations on your perseverance Devster, great set of images.
Awesome shots! I usually get really close to them without realising it and then they flush out and I cant find them again! Great bif shot of the Square-Tailed Kite.
Congratulations on the Snipe. I've still to see one of these.
