Small bird on playing fields

Hi

This might be an easy one - I saw this little bird "grazing" on playing fields today and I cant find its mug shot in the bird book. It is a bit smaller than a common starling.  In sydney at ermington close to the parramatta river.

Hope that someone can help me out.

Thanks

Looked at this a few times and i rekon it's a Thrush Feamale or Juvenile Turdus Merula?

The beak looks rather longer and pointy though?

Cheers Beef

Definitely looks juvenile with such a short tail. I reckon it's a  juvenile Starling. (Sturnus Vulgaris)

Hi Beef and Richman ... thanks for your replies. I have not seen thrushes or blackbirds around that area, but there are often plenty of starlings. So I  think richman is right that it is a juvenile starling -  I looked around the local playing fields this afternoon and found a similar one amongst the starlings (on the right).  The one i saw yesterday was all by himself  - which was the only reason i noticed him.

Thankyou both again for your help.
