Another photo from this morning and it is poor quality, just wondering if someone could ID this one for me please. The prominent chest striping suggests some type of Cuckoo but it also has a greenish sheen on the wings, so any help is appreciated.

yes,the slight green colour on the feathers suggests that it is a Horsfields-Bronze cuckoo
Thanks Nathan I would have never found that, now all I need is a better photo.

Shane
I like that you've captured the green in the wings. Normally that would be difficult to see.

Bit of a fluke I think Karen, sometimes I just snap off pictures of birds I can't really see properly and try and ID them when I get home and as you know other times with the thick vegetation you can't get a clear photo, but at least you know what they are to try again another time.

A good camera that picks up the contrasts is a help too, Shane. A quiet day, bird wise, here today, but a lot of bees around. Good sign.

Could I suggest that this is a shining bronze-cuckoo? Here are my reasons for suggesting this:
Yes Woko that seems likely even though there appears to be brown on the wing but the other photo has quite distinct continuous banding which seems to be the clincher, if the photos were clearer than it would simplify the process, there certainly are some similarities between the 3 Cuckoos mentioned here. Thanks.

I'd go with Shining Bronze-Cuckoo as well...bit hard to see but there doesn't seem to be the brown eye-stripe (check image1) that's also characteristic for Horsefield's Bronze-Cuckoos.

Thankyou Anja I will settle for this ID as I haven't seen one of these before, so thanks to all that helped.
