Finally got some nice afternoon light to give the new rig a proper test run. Lucky enough to find a group of 6 Sooty Oystercatchers, these normally shy birds let me get surprisingly close.

Nice shots, Snail! The first one particularly stands out really well with the subtle backround.
Just wondering, did you take these photos with your new camera gear?
M.M.
Good shots Liam. That's a bird I haven't seen yet.
Have you looked into opening a Flickr account?
It's free and makes it so easy to post good big clear photographs on here.

Thanks, yes these were taken on my new gear, minus the extender. The first shot is my favourite, however all 4 shots have gone a bit soft due to compression, and so my next question on the forum was going to be: 'how do I post photos on here without the reduction in image quality?' Is a Flickr account the solution to this problem?
Cheers
LM
Nice photos LM. Yes posting from flickr should fix that problem.
Liam, Here's a link to a very helpful "sticky" (I think that is the correct term) put up some time ago that makes it so easy.

Very nice photos .... great pose, eye contact and the sand stretching away into the distance in the first.
