I was at Oxley Creek Common this arve and heard a racket coming from a clump of (rather prickly) bushes, and on investigation, found it was a Lewin's honeyeater putting out the alarm about this Southern Boobook.

Nice photos Tim and good spotting the Boobook. I have been out to Oxley Common about ten times now and it's one of those places where anything could show up. I am dying to get an owl photo one day.
Regards
Shane

and good catch of the Southern Boobook
Peter
loving the Boobook
Great to see a Boobook! Good find.
What's the middle Corvid? Is that a Torresian Crow?
Nice work Timmo, would love to see a Boobook.
I believe that it is a Torresian Crow
Oxley Creek Common is in Brisbane, Qld and therefore it should only be either a TC or an A Raven
Mar 12 edition of Australain Birdlife magazine has an article on identifying the 5 Corvid species - not sure if it has helped me
Peter
Yes I believe it is a Torresian Crow (the image label is in the tooltip/hovertext of the image), but only, as Peter says, because they are the most commonly seen corvid in Brissie. I am woeful when it comes to actually IDing corvids.
Cheers
