Spotted Turtle Dove Family

I went birding this morning and I managed to capture some spotted doves - a mother dove and her two babies. They were a bit hard to capture as they were hiding away in the bushes but I enjoyed  photographing them.

Nice photos although the fact that they are breeding in your area is a little unfortunate

Sorry Ryu, they weren't breeding in my area. They had a nest in an olive tree about 25 minutes away. I was practicing my photography skills and since there was a nest close by I used them as a subject to capture...I probably should of stated that before.

Well the fact that they are breedng 25 minutes away is unfortunate too... But then they are good subjects for photography, I've got one great shot of them

And the fact that they were breeding in an olive tree, a pest plant of monumental proportions in many parts of South Australia, is perhaps even more unfortunate.

Hi Birdlover,

that is a nice little group of photos! I too use all kinds of birds for photography practice, and sometimes it is the feral species that sit well while I fiddle with the camera settings so I end up with some half decent photos that I have learned a bit from so that magical day when I am face to face with some rare, endangered or previously unlablled bird I can have half a chance of getting a decent photo of it! :)

Kind Regards

Cheryl
