A friend asked me to visit the new Edithvale-Seaford Wetlands Discovery Centre yesterday, sounded good, bit of a road trip, off we went. Sadly, only open on Tuesdays!
With the Discovery Centre and the Bird Hide closed (unsafe), we took a few photos over the fence and left. Oh well.
I'm not good with identifying waterbirds, they always look different to the field guide. Can anyone help me with these?
Hi Roger, if only I could see them??
We went to those wetlands twice, first time we didn't find it, second time how to get in was a problem. The Centre was shut. We just walked along the fence. Someone said, just climb over the fence. (I'm not the fence climbing age anymore.LOL) The whole lot was a strange experience. We never went back.

Hi Roger, looks like an immature Black-winged Stilt to me. (Owen would know, I could ask him?)
