Little or maybe juvenile Red-necked?
I thought possibility of Little due to the sharpish beak,all of my Red-necked have a noticable
bulge at the tip. Taken at Eyre Bird Observatory last week.

Red-capped Plover, possibly a juvenile.
That would make sense Steve. About the only other shorebirds on the beach but they were all adult.
Havn't seen a Juvi RCP before but the brilliant white breast should have been a give away for a young bird.
