Usually these birds take off when they see people coming, I was lucky enough to sneak closer by hiding behind a pony!
Poor pony was hoping for a handout and most disappointed that I had the camera and not a carrot or some hay for her.
I was interested in the different colourations of the individual birds, and found three that were all different relatively close together. Two of them wandered off in one direction and stayed about two to three metres apart. I'm not sure if this was a mating ritual or just coincidence that they stopped and groomed themselves along the way, just took lots of photos.
Lucky I've kept some which show the two birds together within the same frame, and not cropped all of them down to one.
So here is a bit of a series for you, maybe you can tell me what's happening? I've made some comments on each photo.
