Awesome range of birds. What is the story with the Miner nest as to how you were eye level

Hi Ryu,
The nest was on the lowest branch of the tree no more than 8 feet off the ground overhanging the footpath. I was walking to my car when I heard the chicks then saw the parents both flying in and feeding them. I recently purchased a Tamron 150-600mm so was able to zoom right in and give the eye level appearance.

Wow. The only miner nests I have ever seen were up really high

Great shots , love the Fairy wren mirror shot.
Do the Rainbow bee eaters stay all year round in your neck of the woods?

Lovely shots Brian.
Great shots ... thats a good find of the nest.
Thats a funny one of the fairy wren fighting its reflection.
Thanks Laza,
Not sure about the Rainbow Bee-Eaters as I have only been photographing the local bird life for about three months now. Only the second time I have seen them, the first was back in June and that was close to home in Lismore and the shot above was on the coast in Ballina (about 20klm's). Hopefully will see alot more of them though.
Thanks Brian , interesting.
We have them in the South West of WA but only during the summer/spring months.
They migrate down from Northern WA and Indonesia
Gorgeous bird in flight

Thanks WD,
As I said to Hellobirdy the nest was on the lowest branch of the tree and as I walked under it I heard them then the adults appeared and were feeding them. I was totally suprised to see it there as it is a very busy area and carpark and it would only take a big motorhome to take it out but they didn't appear to be bothered at all.
With the fairy wren I actually saw the female first doing the same thing on the drivers side mirror then spotted the male. They were going non stop jumping from the mirror to the window sill and back, got a few shots of him on different parts of the mirror but that was my favourite.
