I am aware they are not the most popular of birds, so who bothered to do the Ibis survey today? I managed to defer my usual sleep in this Sunday and was up at 0530 and headed to the park at 0600, spotted five adults, one looting a rubbish bin, no leg bands.
Further up the street found a small colony atop of a palm tree with numerous nestlings, one poor female was trying to feed three very vocal young. Another female found wandering the shopping centre strada picking scraps off the pavement as she went. All in all around 20 spotted within three blocks of my place. Emailed my observations off, so hope it is of use to someone...Raven.
