We have had a flock of honeyeaters around in the last few months, they are pretty shy so I didn't get a chance to ID them. Today they were in a stand of euc. viminalis I planted 10 years ago from seed I collected. Now I think they are little friarbirds, I wonder if they have moved in permanently. We have always had noisy friarbirds around and some noisy miners live nearby, the area is getting pretty noisy. I hope they don't take a liking to my orchard. They were eating scale from the trees, there should be enough scale on the trees around to keep them happy.
Little friarbirds look similar to doves from a distance, with that grey colouring.
