Two nights ago I was extremely pleased to hear a tawny frogmouth calling some distance to the north east of our house.
In 2007, 2009 & 2010 this species raised young at our place, the last 2 years in clear view of our lounge room window. I haven't seen signs of breeding this year but that doesn't mean a lot given their brilliant camouflage. I'll take a stroll into the north east in a couple of days to see if they can spot me.
