Hi everyone
We often have these birds fly over our property. Actually had the camera with me this afternoon so tried a few photos.
Apart from nearly falling over my own feet, and lots of "where IS that bird now?" while trying to get the darn camera to focus, I did get some shots that weren't blurry.
The bird seemed to take pity on me, practically stalling above me before wandering off across the road in search of something more entertaining :)
So I've had a look on the Bird Finder, and the closest I can come to the bird I have is a Swamp Harrier. I've based this conclusion on the shape of the wings and tail, and the overall shape of the bird in flight matches the one on the Bird Finder.
Can anyone confirm this for me? Or point me in the right direction?
Thanks
Chris
It's a Whistling Kite. Underwing pattern is a good indicator for these.
I agree with SteveM
