I was shooting with a couple of friends yesterday and we were all having a little chat, waiting for things to happen. What I usually do is keep scanning the area for interesting activity while talking at the same time. A bit hard to do two things being a mere male I guess! However, my friends know I am not being rude, because I do participate in talking, I want to get photos, that's why I lay on the ground at the edge of mud. While they were busy chatting I got this shot, but only because I was able to concentrate on the action, not just the talking. My friends didn't get a shot even!
Was this at Bi Park? Apparently there are a heap of swans about at the moment. A friend of mine who works for Sydney Olympic Park posted a shot of a pair with sygnets spotted yesterday too - and I saw one fly over the Discovery Centre.
What a shot, who wouldn't lie on the ground at the edge of mud for that!! Multitasking.....it's great isn't it.
Hi Holly, at the waterbird refuge. I have full frame head/shoulders portraits of the cygnets. Surprisingly, they came very close, probably because I was not standing up. It was an awesome experience. Is your friend Judy?
Not that I know her, I just know the name.
Sounds brilliant! No wasn't Judy this time, was one of the ecology team.
I'd lay around in the mud any day with you Akos if it meant I could get even close to a shot like that
Totally beautiful moment to capture.... worth selling a shot like that as so many people love swans and cygnets .

Awesome shot Akos. Worth getting muddy for.
