Had a great thunderstorm this afternoon , and 30 minutes later the honeyeaters , rainbow birds , Rollers and these large swifts came over and feasted on the flying ants. the wingspan of the swifts was 20-25cm.

Barney, the shape of that tail makes me wonder if the bird is a white-throated needletail. Hard to tell the difference between fork-tailed swifts & white-throated needletails because they're nearly always seen at a considerable height when thunderstorms are brewing. Hard to get good photos, too.
as you say Woko , but if helps any they all had 'rounded' tails.
