Hot on the heels of the horrific news last week from Redlands Shire in Queensland about the efforts of Council & developers to destroy more of Australia's koalas comes the ghastly report that the Tamanian government is going gangbusters to push the endangered Swift Parrot further towards extinction. The report declared that the government has ignored the recommendations of scientists about preserving the forest habitat of the Swift Parrot.
No doubt Queensland & Tasmanian posters have let their respective authorities know of their feelings about these wanton acts of vandalism. And this shouldn't stop posters from other states from putting in their own thoughts.
Disturbing developments indeed, Woko. It would seem the species is protected in name only.
I think I've found an online link to an article on the report to which you refer?

That seems to be the one, zosterops. Very nasty things are afoot in Tasmania from news reports in South Australia.
Things aren't looking good...

Not good at all. We humans are adept at biting the hand that feeds us.
To me it has always seemed absurd to pay people to write reports and then ignore the reports. Our governments do it all the time. It is absurd to have places of study for people interested in higher learning and then have our government officials acting as though they have no education.
Either save money by not bothering with reports and do as you please, or at least make an attempt to follow recommendations made in reports.
We live in a crazy world.
Happy Birding!
