Tawny Frogmouths 1

I find Tawny frogmouths while looking for Powerful owls. I must have just been lucky, no red eye for any of these.

Great photos DMP thanks for sharing.

Is it because they wern't looking directly at you that you didn't get the Red Eye do you think?

I really don't know. I have many similar looking shots taken previously where most have red eye.

Torch allows camera to focus, then flash.

That's interesting. I have a photograph of a Tawny Frogmouth that I took with flash and no red eye at all yet the same camera and flash used on a Powerful Owl gave two of the worst red-eyes you have ever seen.

I wonder if there is something different in the retina/eye of the Tawny Frogmouth?

The vast majority of my shots of Tawny frogmouths (when flash used) result in red eye.

This is the photograph I was referring to. Maybe it's the angle of the light or something? It would be good to know.
