The image is showing up fine here. I find it a bit dark to view.  I did visit the gif link you had and the eye seems to lighten and then go dark again. Did you do something to the gif?  I'm sure I wasn't imaging it.  Or was that the effect you were referring to?  Nice close up by the way.

I like the pic.  Have been hearing one calling around here at night.  A low, but very penetrating sound.

I had to go listen to their sound after your comment Karen. I didn't know what it was. I do know I've heard it several times, at Lysterfield Lake Park and often wondered what bird made that sound.

Yes, a little but knew it was a bird so didn't worry about it too much.  I'm often on my own when walking at the park so first time was a bit spooky.
