I caught this at San Luis Obispo, CA this afternoon...

Hi Phil, if the bird in the first Photo is the same as the others, then it is a  Red-winged Blackbird.

You can clearly see the bit of red on the wing.

That's how I found it soakes, just ask googlewink I put in Californian black birds. And, bingo, there was the Red-winged Blackbird.cool

There were about 20, or so, of these birds flocking together, so I can't be positive that this is the "same" bird. But, they were mostly like this example.  If memory serves, there were some adult redwings, too.  I am going back to that set and see what else there is that I may have captured and don't remember. I will post other pics, if I find anything different.
