Help needed with two new birds taken today in Deep Creek Conservation Park. Shots aren't that good as the birds were a bit quick for me, but I think the first may be Beautiful Firetail and the second either Flame or Scarlet Robin, juvenile? Cheers
Finally something I have half a chance of getting right
1. Beautiful Firetail
2. Scarlet Robin (happy to be corrected) colouring on breast not all the way up to the beak, as in the Flame Robin (colour up to beak)! Possibly not in full breeding plumage, my guide shows juvenile with much less colouring.

I agree. Gorgeous birds. Two of my faves. The Scarlet Robin is a female. Lorne
Thanks for that. Will now have to go back and try for some decent shots Cheers
Rick your list must be growing every day, at least every weekend.
It helps me if you add a locality, ie Deep Creek Conservation Park, Renmark, SA
Peter
Sorry about that Peter, you are correct.
Deep Creek Conservation Park is on the Southern tip of Fleurieu Peninsula, about 100kl South of Adelaide.
There are some great walks there though steep in places, (most places)
Oh wow, I'm very jealous of that firetail :D
