Unidentified Nestling

Can anyone tell me what sort of bird this is.  It was found by a member of the public who contatcted Sydney Wildlife

no idea why, but the beak reminds me of a Night Heron??

Probably a Spotted Dove. It looks like a juvenile Columbid of some sort.

Notice the bill size to head proportion... A dove would be smaller especially because this bird looks like it is very young. Doves do have a rather broad bill as a nestling which they eventually become thinner. However, your bird seems to be some sort of ground dwelling bird... It's to young to ID but you could have a guess by looking at the ground dwelling birds around your area.

Some posibilities are Ibis, Egret/Heron? I have no idea...
