#1 agree. Whimbrels

#2 Common Greenshanks - Too big for Marsh Sandpiper which are significantly smaller than Stilts, Marshie could probably walk between the legs of a Stilt, if it ducks its head a little. Also bill too heavy, & the dark lores are indicative of Greenshank.

#3a&b Red-necked Stints

#4 Marsh Sandpiper - fine needle-like bill.

You're a legend Steve.

Thanks so much.

You would have loved where I went to get these birds.

While on holidays up at Hervey Bay I called the local Birding group and the Head of the group, John Knight, took me onto private property which he regulaly visits to do wader counts.

This property was on 2000 acres of prime wetland!

There were soooo many birds it was birding heaven!!

And best of all, just us & the birds.

John is a great bloke and really knows his birds.

If you're ever up that way, I suggest giving him a call.

Its going to take me weeks to process the photos.

Thanks again
