Weebill

A good day today with 3 new birds.

My 2nd new bird was a Weebill, there were lots of them but I had difficulty getting a good pic

At first I thought this must be a yellow thornbill but when I checked I noticed that the races flavescens & occidentalis are both much brighter yellow than the race brevirostris which we get here. Good one, pacman, & thanks for adding to my learning (if I remember!).

Wow, if I saw that I would assume it was a thornbill.  What is the difference?

edit: saw woko's post after I sent this!

Question, are weebills Oz's smallest bird?

Nice photo!

Yes the weebill is the smallest Australian bird ,nice shots ,the ones around here tend to have a lot less yellow and never seem to stop moving.

I took 140 pics and have retained 45 after my first review/cut and expect to delete a few more during the 2nd review cut
