Went looking for Kestrels last weekend but had no luck. Rather than go home empty handed I stopped at the estuary of the Onkararinga River,Southern suburbs of Adelaide, and found a great selection of birdlife feeding on the exposed mudflats.
The Kooka was not feeding on the mudflats but was happily (for me) perched in a tree by the side of the road at Carrickalinga, a small coastal holiday town a bit further South.
Great shots and great variety.
The two egrets are really beautiful.
Love the ibis and the worm ... the ibis looks very pleased with himself.
Wonderful golden light on the water with the ibis wading.
That Ibis is a cracker !! And how sharp is the kooka???? They are a beautiful bird to take pics of even if they are common I reckon.
