We went to the Treatment Plant today, although I took about 500 crappy photos, I had the best day in a long time. If you get a chance to go there, right now there are thousands of Waders, Pink-eared Ducks, Australian Shelducks, Red-necked Avocats, and every other waterbird you can think of. I have never seen anything like it, just an amazing experience.
Although the photos are terrible, because most of the birds were too far away for my lens, I will post the odd one just to show you what it was like.
Great pictures M-L,the 3rd one is my favorite.
hello , i might go spend a few hrs there today ,hope it dosnt stink to much ,lol, bruce
It was great, no mozzies either. Get in at Gate4, that's where most of waders are. Have fun

Lovely pics again, Marie-Louise! It looks like a top spot for waders etc.
My memories of the treatment plant are from 1970. Flying out of Point Cook we used to practice aerobatics over the sewage farm. The instructors reckoned it gave a great incentive to pull out of a dive in time!!!!
That was also where I first heard the expression about being in trouble... "I'm in more poo than a Werribee duck!"

Nice set of shots, M-L. It's always a good day out at the plant regardless of whether you come home with good shots. I see the Curlew Sandpipers (Photo 4) are starting to show a bit of colour.
