So you have been taking some photos, leave the camera on the floor, and then this happens...
you take some more photos of course.
This is not my house, camera or snake. Seriously, my son and I got to do what we have wanted for a long time yesterday, a Reptile Rescue Course. This 1.3m Tiger was our practice catch (among others, even snakes get tired?).
This last one is Randy, he is a Copperhead, at about 1m. He was a friendly little guy.

Here is my latest snake encounter. This 1m tiger was on the path I was walking. I took this photo from about 3m. I would have edged closer, but he took aff right after this.

I'm not scared of snakes, but at least a good safe stick length away would be preferable for the venomous ones, in my mind...

Goodness me! What an amazing experience and what a great course (mind you I will admit to being a total wuss and so I will just admire from a distance).
Hi, soakes, that's me holding Randy the copperhead, he just wanted to stay close and get warm. He did get a little more excited with our friend, who is currently raising Pademelon joeys and probably had some sent still on her.
I like your photo, that's as bout as close as I have been in the wild.
Here is a couple more showing me holding a Chapel Island tiger, this one between 1.6 and 1.7 metres. See how much fatter he is, than the others. Chapel tigers only get one good feed a year, when the Short Tailed Shearwaters hatch, and before they fledge, so they have adapted - much bigger jaw opening, than the standard.

Thanks Night Parrot, no not available at Bunnings, but you can buy online at Reptile Rescues (google reptile rescue Tasmania) website, not cheap, designed and made locally here in Tasmania.
