Shore birds... One thing Iam shore ....... About, its not a knot, how about a Plover I was hoping for a Grey Plover as I have never see one before and with the white fleck on the wings it just may be . Pacific Golden plover are more common. Maybe some else is shore....
I'll put beer on Grey Plover. Doesn't appear to be any gold flecking for Golden Plover. The big bill, big eye, & tertials well short of tail tip are all good indicators for Grey Plover.
These guys can be easier in flight, with Grey Plover having prominent black armpits, noticable pale rump compared to rest of upperparts & more prominent white wing bar. On Pacific Golden Plover the rump is same as rest of upperparts & no obvious black armpits.
