I went down to Eagleby Wetlands on saturday, for a bit of a look-see, and was quite shocked to see the effects of the drought / dry on the lagoons. The 'main' one with several bird hides is now covered in weedy grass 6 foot high or more. However, there were still a plentitude of non-water bird birds around, including lots of Pale-Headed Rosellas, and lots of Scarlet Honeyeaters.
There were a pair of Whistling Kites circling around quite high up, but then I spotted a reasonably-low-flying White Bellied Sea Eagle doing laps over the river and the "wetlands".
Slightly cropped, but not too much.
Threw in a phone cam pic of what was previously a water-filled lagoon.
Beautiful bird. On my list of birds to photograph, I know where one is but will be a major undertaking time wise.
Amazing the changes to the wetlands through the seasons.
Great shots windshear .... you really caught it well against that perfect blue sky.
