I thought Parladotes were fast until I saw these feeding at the nest to-day.
Access to the nest by the parents was always via the same route. Land in the top branches and work your way down always managing to stay on the opposite side of the tree to wherever the camera was.
The chick or chicks seemed to be prompted by the parent landing on the nest.
Fantastic photos and wonderful find. You got brilliant shots there.
Beautiful little bird and amazing hanging nest.
Beautiful photos! :) Haven't managed to spot one of these little birds yet.
Magic shots Reflex, lovely and crisp. Beautiful bird.

Same place as the Parladotes Windshear, just a bit closer to the water.

Ooh, looks like I'll need to pay a visit very shortly.
Reflex:
I knocked off early from work today, although I still didn't manage to make it out to Samsonvale very 'early'. I found that the little pardalote has left his hole, and was sitting in a nearby tree plaintively calling, and getting fed. I don't think the wind was helping, but he seemed to be flying around quite well between trees.
It took quite a bit of looking to find the Gerygone nest (I think I was expecting something larger for some reason). Unfortunately the light was fairly bad by this stage, and only got so-so pictures, but was lovely to watch them. (and the whistling kites, and helmeted guineafowl, and the rooster as well, hehe)
Definately the right spot then!

No matter how mant birds I see, no matter how many I know about, there are always more to discover!
Australia has such a wonderful array of birds and we are so lucky to ave so many little treasures like this to find.
Lovely series of photos! Nice to see the details of the bird and of their life. Quite an amazing little nest.
Happy Birding!
