Wow,I have never even seen a photo of them, had to look it up. Are they common where you live ? Thanks, I have learned something. Every day I find out something new, is a good day of my life, my motto anyway.
Nice record shot mate. I love their colours. They are hard to photograph in the dimly lit rainforest environments they inhabit. Well done!
thanks but I have to tell that I got them (there was 3 but I could not get them together) in the open area on the edge of the rainforest section and as soon as I moved they were straight back into the heavy growth
Lovely catch ..... hard to get and they are very pretty little birds. I have sseen them in the rainforest up at Maleny here ..... no light there though

It's great to be made aware of something of which I've been unaware, pacman, so thanks for that.
Araminta, I reckon you've touched on the meaning of life!
my first sighting and photo.
I live on the Redcliffe Peninsula, Qld but am working temporarily in Port Macquarie, NSW. Boorganna NR is about 60 klms SW of Port Macquarie
my Morcombe guide says that they are found between 600-1000 metres altitude

Nice work Peter, a lovely bird. I had a golden opportunity for a good shot but missed the focus completely!
Cheers, Owen.
I'm with the good folks above - knew nothing of these guys at all before now. Well captured Peter.
Cheers

A real cutie. Like Owen, I had a chance to photograph one of these up at O'Reilly's but stuffed it!
