I snapped this little fellow in a scrubby area near Muddy Creek which is near Sydney Airport. He was maybe slightly larger than a silvereye. He spent a lot of time preening himself so he may appear more fluffy than usual. I could not find him in my book - can you help with an id please. Thanks.
i suggest a non-breeding or juvenile Golden-headed Cisticola

agree
It looks like a cistacola, but its head is very lightly marked?
thankyou all for the identification, I had not seen a cisticola before ... the habitat sounds right for cisticola as its a wetland area and he was perched on a tree amongst some long tangled grasses and nearby reeds
