During breeding the back of the head bears three "white nuptial plumes"
He had just had a haircut. They'll grow back.
The first pic was tahen tithe a 300mm f/2.8 - no plumes visible.
Note the difference when a 400mm f/2.8 (below)

What a nice bird. Did it wait for you to change lenses? Or are you a guy that has more than one camera hanging around his neck? Third option, you have a slave (called partner), who carries your gear
