Normally they fly over late afternoon, but when it's hot, they often drop in for a drink.
They never stay long, and sadly there are never more than 5 birds. But yesterday there was a young bird with them, and they sat in the trees for a little while. The young one preened for some time and this feather got stuck in his claws. It tried for a long time to get it off, but eventually they all flew off again.
What beautiful photos.

A real beauty !
Great shots, love their 'creaky door' bird call.
One of my favourite birds, but they're not too common around here!

Great stuff Araminta! Love your backyard!
Beautiful little bird. Have not had the pleasure of seeing one in the flesh or even hearing their 'creaky door' call.
