Hi
I have been watching and photographing this little guy for a few weeks now, My first meeting with him was when I think he must have fallen from the nest as he was hopping across the road, thought for sure he would get squashed by a car. Anyhow they had him in shrubs around the area and one day a cat walked right passed him. He really has 9 lives. The parent birds have been run ragged keeping it safe and feeding him up. Now today I see he can fly and he flew onto a clear branch so I could get some good photos. I didn't count on what I got. Just as the parent bird arrived the sun came though so he has a halo around him, and I don't know if it is particles of food, pollen what ever but it sure looks great. What do you think think iI have downloaded the sequence back to front

What a fabulous little bloke. Sure looks like pollen dust doesn't it? Whatever it is, I love these shots Diane, the light just lights his "halo" beautifully - love how he looks like he's trying to catch his meal back up in the first shot too.

These photos are magical Diane, just beautiful

It is definately that time of year. I managed to get Mum and Bub too on the weekend at Kings Park here in Perth.

Lovely photos Diane!
Gorgeous photos, both of you!
We have a lot of red wattlebirds in our area, and just this morning I was wondering what a young one looks like. I've only ever seen one harrassed Mamma wattlebird feeding a fledgling koel she'd been tricked into hatching.
I wouldn't have noticed the photos are out of sequence Diane, I was simply fascinated by them

Great captures, Diane. I have one sitting on the nest at the moment, should not be long now.
