the most delicate thing I have seen. How long would it have taken the little birds to weave it? It is lined with soft featers and moss. I found it on the grass yesterday, there was no wind, and I wonder how it got there? It's just a piece of art.

How delightful M-L! That is a beautiful nest. Wonder if it is a red-browed finch nest or something similar?
Red-browed finch nests are horizontal according to Morcombe. I'm wondering if it's a house sparrow's nest given the conglomeration of stuff from which it's made.
Hope you can keep an eye on it and find out who the owners are.
