Hello all. I've heard this lovely bird song often on a farm in Heathcote, Victoria and would like to know the name of the bird making it. I've made a small mp3 recording of it but don't know how to share it with this group. Is there a way? Thank you in advance.
I have not tried posting a call but I believe others have posted a link to the recording.
Thank you sue818. I was afraid of that.
Unfortunately I made the recording and the only copy is on my computer, making it impossible to provide a link. There must be some way to share this bird call with a knowledgable enthusiast.
Have you tried the Australian Bird ID Facebook group? Might be away to load it there.
I hadn't thought of that sue818. Thanks for the suggestion. I've just requested to join their group which hopefully will lead to me being able to identify my bird call. Thanks again for your help.
Thank you once again sue818. The ABID Facebook group accepted my sound clip and were able to identify the bird straight away. It is a Striated Pardalote.
Maaaarvellous, birdsongoz.
You may or may not know that Striated Pardalotes do a terrific job in keeping small insects, particularly sap sucking psyllids, under control.

Wonderful, so pleased that my suggestion was helpful. A great little bird to have around as Woko says. You might find them burrowing in to nest somewhere around the place.
