The cane field followers ... BOP , cattle egret etc

I have discovered that the cane fields as they are being harvested are a fantastic attraction for scavenging birds adn BOP

Black Shouldered Kite, one of a pair that i was able to watch for ages

Whistling Kite

The one I really wanted was the magnificent Swamp Harrier that was hunting in the same fields, but i'll be back and better prepared for them now that I know there is a pair there!!!

What did you do in Photoshop near the wing of the Whistling Kite?

I noticed that when I was in Cairns a couple of years ago - lots of activity around the fields. Beautiful shots too :)

Thanks Holly and Akos.  Akos I think there was an OOF powerline there which worked well at the bottom to remove but I couldnt fix it up around the bird. I will go back to the roginal and check it out.

Love the first shot Adrienne. I actually got my first photo of a cattle egret the other week. I love the activity in your photo, they dont seem to mind the tractor at all.
