I think it was actually a collared sparrowhawk from what my daughter told me it had long skinny legs but did not have yellow eyes and had a more squared tail. It flew into a window and my 10yr old daughter nursed it for a few hours and then let it go in the tree and then took some pictures
You've got some terrific plants to bring the birds in. What a great experience for your daughter, looking after such a beautiful bird. Do you know if it was ok?
Nice views of your garden visitors and the shrubs too. What is the name of the raptor please? Is it a Peregrine Falcon?
It looks like a powerful owl.
Definitly not an owl . I'd pick it as a Brown Goshawk or Collared Sparrowhawk
