grouping of species

Hello

I keep record of my bird photo's by running a personal web site (which also has trip and other photo's).

I want to correctly structure the photo's into groups but I'm not sure if my method is working or will stop the top level struction becomming too large.

img attach which is hopfully clear.

thanks

AJS, I'm not really sure what you're aiming to achieve with your bird list. If you're keen to list them according to a commonly used structure then could I suggest that if you don't have one you buy a bird field guide or borrow one from a library. All field guides that I'm familiar with list bird species according to an accepted format & you could base your list on this format.

sorry for my delayed response but I have just seen your thread

I agree with Woko and suggest that you adopt a standard methodology, visit http://www.tonypalliser.com/barc/barc-home.html as this is the site of the Birds Australia Rareities Committee - I use this list but have to overlay my own numbering system as theirs is not sequential  http://www.birdsinbackyards.net/forum/Filing-directory-or-where-ic-bird

You might also look at one of the database programs http://code.google.com/p/scythebill-birdlist/
