Hard to tell because it's head is tucked in. But it looks a lot like a pigeon. If you have him in a box, are there any colours on his head?
If he is like that in the morning, take him to the local vet, if you can't do it now. Sorry to say though, if it's a feral pigeon or non native bird (pest?), these days they have to put them to sleep.
Thanks for the help guys. I tried to keep him in a large box with some shrubs covered by a towel away from any predators and hope he may recover, unfortunately he didn't make it :(

Doesn't appear to be doing very good. Just has hos head tucked in and not moving.
Spotted Turtle-dove. It doesn't look any good, unfortunately. It may need to be euthenased. Lorne
