it's getting hot

I'm a bit worried about my wren sitting on the nest. She did a good job facing the entrance of the nest to the east. The morning sun shines right into it. But there is only shade in the afternoon. I hope 41* is not going to cook the two tiny eggs? Holly would know? Right now she spends most of her time just outside the nest watching the eggs. I don't think there is anything I can do?? Or is there?

No there isn't much you can do M-L - just need to let nature take its course. If she is spending a lot of time off the eggs chances are she is doing that to regulate the temp already.

(maybe we need to invent a teeny tiny portable fan for hot days?)

Yes, Holly, it can be simply installed using a fairy-wrench. But I agree, that fairy-wren being off the nest a lot is a clear sign of good temperature regulation.

There is some "great news",  I saw one tiny , tiny Babyyesyes I have never seen a tinier beak. I had a look while she wasn't on the nest, but in the time I got the camera, she sat on it again. There might be a second one coming? I will not disturb her, once a day is enough, she deserves some peace and quiet.

It's even harder not to tell anyone about it, because they might want to see them.....

I just did the "once a day check", there are two chicks now, and both parents are feeding.yesheartyes

Will only go up again tomorrow. Any idea when they will be ready? If I can, I would love to see their first flight. It is the best experience, I have seen it before. Some of you might remember last year's photos of the Babies?
