juvenile dusky moorhen

HI there,

I have just taken one of these birds indoors for the evening as it spent the whole day on the footpath outside my house in suburban Melbourne. It spent the day hiding under my car, being harrased by Magpies and dodging kids on razer scooters. It hardly moved the whole day.

Fearing it wouldn't survive the night I trapped it and brought it inside.

What should my next step be?
