juvenile pigeon

I saw a small brown bird, with orange legs, perhaps slightly larger than a common myna, and think it is a juvenile pigeon, does that sound right?  None of the normal adult markings, but it walked with that funny head movement of a pigeon I believe.

Seen along a canal inner west sydney.

Not a lot to go on there, occonore, but the head movement seems to have pointed you towards a pigeon. Sighting this in a heavily urbanized area is a also indicative of a pigeon of the feral variety.

yes thank you.  I just am hoping to see a bird other than the ubiquitous magpies, pigeons, currawongs, lorrikeets and noisy miners!  Not that i don't enjoy them and their singing.

Let's hope it was a native pigeon, then.

Yes, a very rare and hitherto unknown species!

(Actually, i have also seen crested doves, and believe they are native?)
