Waiting for the sun i decided to take a walk down to a brook near the nest site, i thought the pair might fly down to hunt. Suprissing enough i heard the call of a kingfisher and managed to locate it. Soon i heard the answer and another bird turned up. They paired up and hung around the same area. I was getting a bit concerned that they weren't returning to the nest site with thier catch until one bird dove down and into a new nest hole. It suddenly struck me that this was another pair altogether, only 200m from the first nest.
Kingfisher hot spot.
Unlike the first site the nest was in the trees alowing me to get some nice perch shots rather than the telephone lines-
I pulled myself away and the sun was finally out on the other site-

Beautiful set of photos, love the ones in flight!
Very nice images Mike. For me the real standout is the last flight shot with the bird's wings up and its head looking at the landing spot (I suspect).
That's really different compared to any I've seen before. Great effort!!!!
