How impressive is the colour of the blue patch on his back? Even on a grey day like today , I noticed it from a distance. I would have loved to get a bit closer, but.....he had better things to do than to hang around for more photos.

I did not know the males had a blue patch there.
Great to see birds from this angle as well, to appreciate the colours and patterns in the plummage.
