noisy birds of spring

Its been too quite lately!  I am missing the noise outside my window at night that began in spring, the clacking and screeching, the channel billed cuckoo and the early morning koel.

Yes the Bookook and Koels have quientened down, but late Feb early March brings out the Melalucea around here and the party continues.  The Rainbow Lorrikkets seem to have had a resurgance and the night s a scretch with fruit bats.  Kookas still get kackling at 4.30AM, and the Crested Pigeons are in love makeing persuits.  Down at the lagoon the Willy Wags and Supurb Wrens quietly chirp away.  And the poor Cormorant is still being shood on by the Noisy Miners.

Yes thing have certainly quietened down around my place too, still hearing the odd Koel but I feel like every time I hear one now it could be the last time until spring rolls around again. At least I know I can count on the resident butcherbirds, rosellas, and wattlebirds to carry on the chorus.
